ABOUT THE ARTIST

 

Los Angeles native and hornist Dylan Hart is a busy freelance musician. Depending on the day, Dylan can be found recording for video games, film, and television as well as performing a wide variety of music genres including solo, chamber music, pop, jazz, contemporary, and orchestral concerts. In 2013, Dylan won Honorable Mention in the Professional Division at the International Horn Competition of America.

Dylan is very active in the Los Angeles film music scene and can be heard on over 100 motion pictures including Frozen, Godzilla, Transformers: Age of Extinction, The Book Thief, and Rio 2. Dylan has also recorded or made television appearances with music legends Michael Buble, Sting, Neil Patrick Harris, Stevie Wonder, Wu-Tang Clan, Gladys Night, Yo-Yo Ma, and Quincy Jones. In addition he can be seen as a horn player on an episodes of CSI: New York and The Mentalist. Most recently you can see Dylan play with Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr on CBS's "The Night That Changed America"

In the summer of 2013, Dylan toured Europe with The Who doubling on horn, trumpet, trombone, Wagner tuba, and mellophone. He has also toured with John Williams’ Star Wars in Concert and Eden Espinosa of Wicked.

In the orchestral world, Dylan has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Santa Barbara Symphony, Redlands Symphony, and the San Diego Symphony Orchestra to name a few. Dylan is also a member of the Los Angeles Horn Quartet and Modern Brass Quintet.

In 2006, Dylan received his Bachelor of Music degree from USC studying under Vincent DeRosa, James Thatcher, and Richard Todd. He earned a Masters of Music degree in 2013 from UCLA while studying with Patrick Sheridan and Chris Cooper.
